Chito and Me'an. We will all miss you guys!
For Filipino caregivers here in Israel, Christmas means going to Bethlehem, one of the major cities with large concentration of Palestinian Christians, on December 25 for the Yuletide Mass as well as a tour of the place. We got to visit again Bethlehem’s main Christian landmarks such as the Nativity Church, the Milk Grotto and the Shepherd’s Fields. It is estimated that more than 3000 Filipino workers, together with the RP Embassy Officers and staff headed by Chargé d’Affaires Gilberto G.B. Asuque traveled in 40 buses from Israel to Bethlehem to attend the Christmas Day mass. Monday’s festivities were even made livelier by the huge number of pilgrims, larger compared to the previous years. The Manger Square particularly, was packed with tourists, especially Filipinos who wanted to visit the Nativity Church, the place where Jesus was born.
